As we age the effects of the sun and environmental pollutants take their toll on our skin, developing wrinkles, sunspots and aged tired looking skin.

Laser Resurfacing is a treatment to reduce facial wrinkles, skin irregularities, and acne scars. A laser skin resurfacing treatment for wrinkle reduction restores a healthy look and texture to the skin. The Erbium laser delivers energy at 2940 nm wavelengths through a computer controlled device that automatically scans the area of skin being treated. The laser light then targets the water in the skin. The depth of the resurfacing treatment is precisely controlled for light or deeper peels, depending on the desired result.

Full Field & Fractional Resurfacing

Full Field Resurfacing is a wrinkle reducing laser treatment that involves treating the entire surface area of the skin. The laser moves across the treatment area removing the damaged skin layers that the body will naturally restore with fresh new healthy looking skin.

A shallow depth resurfacing is effective in reducing fine lines , sunspots and tired looking skin. A deeper depth procedure is used to improve skin tone, texture and to reduce deep wrinkles, including upper lip lines and crow’s feet.

Pro Fractional Laser Resurfacing uses the laser to deeply remove thousands of tiny pinpoint columns of skin leaving the surrounding tissue intact. The skin’s wound healing response creates new Collagen at a deeper level adding firmness and resilience to the skin. Much like aerating your lawn, this approach allows the laser to penetrate very deeply for effective Collagen remodeling while the surrounding intact tissue promotes rapid healing.

Best results for wrinkle reduction are achieved when the Pro-Fractional Technology is combined with Full Field Resurfacing stimulating the growth of new collagen and improving the skin’s overall thickness, tightness and resilience. The skin’s surface regrows with fresh healthy cells resulting in a uniform skin colour, texture and feel turning back the hands of time restoring a more youthful you.

What Areas of the Body Can Be Treated?

Any area of the body can be treated, though the most commonly treated areas are the face and neck.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Lighter resurfacing treatments produce a less dramatic result and require minimal downtime but can be repeated often for a more cumulative ongoing improvement. Deeper Resurfacing Peels achieve the desired result much more quickly with longer downtime. Typically, excellent results and reduced wrinkles are achieved after just one treatment.

What Can I Expect During the Wrinkle Reduction Laser Resurfacing Procedure?

A topical anaesthetic will be applied to the area being treated to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. Your skin is then cleansed and your eyes protected with safety shields. The laser is positioned over this skin as the computer-guided scanner systematically moves the laser beam around the area being treated.

The laser makes a sharp snapping sound during the treatment as vapourized skin cells are removed from the surface of your skin. The comfort level during the procedure varies from patient to patient and depends largely on the depth of treatment.

What Can I Expect Immediately After the Treatment?

After your wrinkle reduction laser resurfacing procedure, you may experience redness and a sensation similar to a sunburn lasting 12-24 hours. Swelling may also occur in the treated areas as well. After Care Instructions and treatments are giving which include an analgesic and application of an Aquaphor coating similar to Vasoline. The treated areas must be kept moist for several days after the procedure.

How Long Will it Take to Recover?

Complete healing will depend largely on the depth of the procedure. Healing times for shallow treatments are typically 2-4 days after which patients can resume normal activities. Moderate to Deep Resurfacing treatments will result in a 3-7 days recovery time. Your skin will be sensitive to ultraviolet light after the procedure direct sun exposure must be avoided until the skin is completely healed.

When Will I See the Results?

The top layer of your skin will regrow and can be covered with make up in about 4-7 days, at which time you will begin to see noticeable improvements in your skin’s texture, tone and wrinkle appearance. The Deeper Laser Resurfacing Procedures also stimulate the growth of new collagen over the next 4-6 months. The treated areas continue to improve in tightness, tone, colour and texture restoring a more youthful appearance.
