Skin Rejuvenation : Red Spots and Vascular Lesions
|
Spider veins, rosacea, small leg veins and reddish scars can all be treated using our VBeam™pulsed dye laser system. The VBeam system has a well-documented history of safely treating vascular lesions for over fifteen years. Improvements to this laser system, allows for effective treatments with minimal to no bruising. It is designed to deliver an intense but gentle burst of laser light to the skin. The laser light is specifically absorbed by the haemoglobin in the blood vessels of the vascular lesion with minimal effect on the surrounding tissue. These vessels are heated and coagulated. The body then reabsorbs the treated blood vessels during the natural healing process.

• facial veins
• rosacea (diffuse facial redness) affecting the skin of the face around the nose and cheeks causing a red blush or sunburned look
• scars that are red or pink in colour, resulting from surgery, trauma, acne or burns
• pinkish stretch marks that appear after pregnancy or rapid weight gain

What precautions should be taken before and after treatments?
It is recommended to avoid sun exposure or tanning to the areas to be treated throughout the course of treatment. Immediately following the treatment, the area may be slightly swollen and may feel warm.
What does the treatment involve?
The patient will wear protective safety eyewear to shield the eyes from the laser light. A small hand piece will be used deliver the laser energy to the skin. A gentle spray of cryogen is applied onto the skin to pre-cool it just before each laser pulse. The treated area may be slightly pink for up to two days after treatment. If the treatment is more aggressive, the area may be bruised. This can be easily camouflaged with make-up. Most patients return to their normal activities right after the treatment.
