Botox Treatment

When administered by a trained practitioner, Botox injections take just a few short minutes. The wrinkle-smoothing result can be seen within days, and can last for three to four months. It is commonly used for frown lines between the eyes and on the forehead, as well as for crow’s feet around the eyes. It is a simple and non-invasive treatment that is revolutionizing the science of creating more relaxed looking faces!

How is Botox used?
A tiny amount of the purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacteria is injected into the muscle that creates the wrinkle. Botox blocks the nerve impulse from reaching that area, and as a result, the muscle relaxes. As the muscle relaxes, the wrinkle overlying the muscle is smoothed away.

How long does a treatment last?

The effects usually last three to four months, at which time another injection is required. After several treatments, the effects of Botox may begin to last longer.

What exactly is the treatment like?

A tiny amount of Botox is injected, very precisely, into the muscles being treated. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is injected, the discomfort associated with the injection is minimal. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. No sedation or local anaesthetic is required, and you can resume normal activities immediately.
