Skin Rejuvenation : Eyelash Enhancement with LATISSE™

LATISSE is a prescription eye drop applied to the edge of the upper eyelids to enhance eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker. LATISSE works gradually— with full results at 16 weeks. You should continue applying the topical solution each night for best results. If you stop using LATISSE, your eyelashes will return to their previous appearance over several weeks to months. Your eyelashes will experience real measurable growth. First, you’ll begin to see changes in length. Then, gradually, you'll notice more thickness and darkness in your lashes. After week 16, you'll see the full effect of LATISSE, and so will others.

How to Use:
Before applying LATISSE each night, ensure your face is clean, makeup and contact lenses are removed, and any other facial care products have already been applied. Hold the supplied sterile applicator horizontally, place one drop of LATISSE solution on the applicator. Immediately draw the applicator carefully along the skin at the base of the upper eyelashes (where the eyelashes meet the skin) going from the inner part of your lash line to the outer part. Do not apply in your eye or to the lower lid because excess hair growth outside the treatment area may occur. Blot any excess solution beyond the eyelid with a tissue.

Results After 16 Weeks of Using LATISSE™ Once Daily

Frequently Asked Questions

How does LATISSE work?
LATISSE is believed to affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase; and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.

How soon will I see results?
LATISSE users may start to see longer lashes at 4 weeks, with full growth at 16 weeks. The improvement is gradual over this time.

Why do I only apply LATISSE to the base of the upper eyelashes?
There is the potential for hair growth to occur in areas where LATISSE solution comes in repeated contact with the skin surface.

What if I forget to apply it one night, or a few nights?
If you miss an application, or a few, don't try to catch up. Just apply the LATISSE treatment the next evening and stay on schedule.

How do I maintain my results?
To achieve the full effect of LATISSE, you will need to use the product daily for 16 weeks. After that point, you can talk to Dr. Cole about ongoing use.

What happens if I stop using LATISSE?
If you stop using LATISSE, your eyelashes are expected to return to their previous appearance over several weeks to months.

What should I do if I wear contact lenses?
Contact lens wearers can use LATISSE. They need to remove their lenses before applying the solution and can reinsert their contacts 15 minutes afterwards.

Are there many LATISSE users?
In its first year alone, approximately 1.5 million bottles of LATISSE were prescribed.

What are the possible side effects of LATISSE?
The most common side effects after using LATISSE solution are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness. This was reported in approximately 4% of patients. Less common side effects include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eyes, and redness of the eyelids.

Are there any special warnings associated with LATISSE use?

LATISSE use may cause darkening of the eyelid skin, which may be reversible. It is possible for hair growth to occur in other areas of your skin that LATISSE frequently touches. Any excess solution outside the upper eyelid margin should be wiped to reduce the chance of this from happening.

What should I do if I get LATISSE into my eye?
LATISSE solution is an ophthalmic drug product. If any gets into the eye, it is not expected to cause harm. The eye does not need to be rinsed.

What should I do if I experience eye redness or itching?
Eye redness or itching may occur immediately after use. Consult Dr. Cole if either of these persist.
